This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, hold, use, disclose and otherwise manage personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in Schedule 1 of that Act.
2. The personal information we collect
The types of personal information we may collect and hold include, where relevant to our international trade and import export services:
- Your name and position or role within your business;
- Your email address and other business contact details;
- Your business or company name, address and country of operation;
- Details of your enquiries, requests for quotes, and the goods or services you ask us to source, import or export;
- Information contained in trade documentation you provide, such as invoices, purchase orders, packing lists, bills of lading and customs declarations;
- Billing, payment and delivery information reasonably required to complete transactions;
- Records of communications between you and us, including emails and messages sent through our website forms.
We do not generally collect sensitive information (such as health information, racial or ethnic origin, or political opinions) unless it is reasonably necessary for one of our functions or activities, the collection is required or authorised by law, or you have given your consent.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and our services are directed at businesses and adults engaged in trade.
3. How we collect personal information
We collect personal information in the following ways:
- directly from you when you complete a form on our website (including our quote request form or contact form), send us an email, or otherwise communicate with us;
- from your use of our website, including information collected through cookies and analytics tools;
- from third parties you deal with in connection with a transaction, such as freight forwarders, customs brokers, suppliers, buyers or your authorised representatives;
- from publicly available sources, where it is unreasonable or impracticable to obtain the information directly from you; and
- as required in the course of complying with Australian trade, customs, biosecurity and related legal obligations.
Where it is reasonable and practicable to do so, we will collect personal information directly from you. If we receive information about you that we did not ask for, we will handle it in accordance with our obligations under APP 11 and, where permitted, will destroy or de-identify it.
4. Why we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information
We collect, hold, use and disclose personal information for purposes including:
- responding to your enquiries and providing information about our services;
- preparing quotes and proposals for import, export, sourcing and freight coordination services;
- entering into and performing contracts, including arranging shipments, preparing and lodging trade documentation, and coordinating with suppliers, buyers and logistics providers;
- managing our business relationship with you, including invoicing, payment and record keeping;
- complying with our legal and regulatory obligations, including under customs, biosecurity, taxation, corporations and anti-money laundering laws;
- improving our website, services and customer experience; and
- marketing and promotional communications, which we will only send where permitted by law and the Spam Act 2003 (Cth), and from which you can opt out at any time by emailing ceo@manjitglobaltrade.site.
We will only use or disclose personal information for purposes you would reasonably expect, purposes to which you have consented, or as otherwise permitted or required by law. We do not sell personal information.
5. Disclosure of personal information
We may disclose personal information to third parties where reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to:
- freight forwarders, shipping lines, airlines and logistics providers involved in moving your goods;
- customs brokers and consultants who prepare or lodge import, export or customs documentation on our or your behalf;
- suppliers, manufacturers, buyers and their agents, where relevant to a trade transaction;
- our professional advisers, including accountants, auditors and lawyers;
- information technology, hosting, email and analytics service providers who support our website and business systems;
- payment processors and financial institutions for transaction processing;
- government agencies and regulators, such as the Australian Border Force, the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, and the Australian Taxation Office, where required or authorised by law; and
- any other person with your consent, or where we are permitted or required to do so under Australian law.
6. Overseas disclosure
Because we operate in international trade, it is likely that some personal information will be disclosed to recipients located outside Australia. This may include suppliers, buyers, freight partners and service providers located in countries in which we and our counterparties operate, which may include India, Singapore, Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates, China, the United Kingdom and the United States.
Where we disclose personal information to an overseas recipient, we will take steps that are reasonable in the circumstances to ensure the recipient does not breach the Australian Privacy Principles, consistent with APP 8. Where required, we will take reasonable steps to bind those recipients to privacy obligations that are substantially similar to the APPs.
7. Cookies, analytics and website data
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to function properly, to remember your preferences and to understand how the site is used. Cookies are small text files stored on your device. Information collected may include your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you visit and the referring website.

Retention periods vary depending on the nature of the information and the applicable legal requirements.
9. Access to and correction of your personal information

We will respond to your request within a reasonable period. We will provide access or make corrections unless we are permitted or required by law to refuse. If we refuse your request, we will provide you with our reasons and information about how you can complain. In some cases, a reasonable charge may apply for providing access, and we will tell you if so before proceeding.

We take the security of personal information seriously. If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm to individuals whose information is involved, we will assess the breach promptly and, where required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as soon as practicable.

If you have any concerns or complaints about how we handle your personal information, please contact us using the details in section 12. We take privacy complaints seriously and will:
- acknowledge your complaint as soon as practicable; and
- investigate and respond to you, usually within 30 days, with the outcome of our investigation and any steps we propose to take.
